Last weekend I documented the Brooklyn Rock Lottery 3, an event whereby New York musicians gather for 1 day, randomly forming bands through a draft, creating songs during the afternoon, and performing them live that night.  Press and info here.

Commissioned by the Kunsthalle Galapagos, I shot Brooklyn artist Erik Hougen in his studio as he was preparing for his solo show “How to Bury Your Own Dead Body.” The images were used for the show’s printed catalogue, and have been published in the Brooklyn Eagle and L Magazine.

Earlier this Spring, I shot the publicity photos for the Sugarman 3’s new album campaign. The band was key in establishing New York’s vibrant funk/soul scene. Sugarman is the co-founder of Daptone Records, and a founding member of Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings. We shot the images near Daptone’s “House of Soul” in Bushwick, Brooklyn. One of the images was used on the back cover of their “What the World Needs Now” LP.
